Mansion Brika - Municipal Folklore Museum of Soufli
Brika Mansion was built in Soufli in 1890. Specialists were hired from Bursa and they created one of the most beautiful buildings in the whole area. Brika Mansion was built in Soufli for one of the most prosperous families of Thrace, the Brika family. Its construction is such that it served a very specific purpose: the Mansion Brika provides appropriate conditions for the breeding of silkworms and the storage of dry cocoons. Mansion Brika is three-storey with a prominent curved balcony and a wooden pediment. It is placed on an elevated stone pedestal. There are accentuated corners with brick recesses. It served as the residence of the owner and his family and of course as a breeding and storage area for silkworms and cocoons. The family donated the Brika Mansion to the public in 1991 and today it houses the Municipal Folklore Museum of Soufli.
